WEATHER

My heart is breaking for you all,  with this terrible bad weather.
I do hope those affected will be safe and dry very soon.
I see on Sky that the sea is trying to washing away some of the houses.
As to what else to say, I cannot, because I do not know what.
God Bless you all and keep you and your family's safe.

I love you all and hope all come right.

FRIENDS

These beautiful flowers were given to me from Billy and Jane, for Sundays lunch.  It was very good even though I have to say so myself.  I was a bit heavy handed on one of the spices in one of the meat dishes and had to buy more meat and dilute it down, luckily it worked.
Here is a Pic of the 4 of them and my DH Tony. (The one in the Red Shirt)

WELL, WELL, WELL.

Barbara, a friend of ours, of many years,  we first met in Welkom, 1967 a gold mining town in the Orange Free State (Then) now it is called Free State.  She lives in the UK now has been there for many years, I am always nagging her to become a follower here I am so happy, to see her picture here  she must have slipped in here a while ago, then I noticed her photo.  You girls are all so very clever, I have learned something from all of you.   What we did before Internet, so easy to keep up with people from all walks of life and all over the world.

VISITORS FOR A SPOT OF LUNCH.

Only to let u see that I do not spend all my time in the Slave Cave, most of it though. We had a few visitors for lunch before Christmas. Everyone seemed to have fun, as it was so hot, we had cold meats and salad. It kills me to cook a hot meal in the heat. We ended with a Trifle, put a spot of sherry in and lashings of cream, then I cry when I get onto the scale. Just in case u are wondering where I am, there I am behind the camera. LOL.

The Layouts were by 1st one PYA TRANQUILITY X5
2ND one By TOUCAN SCRAPS.

We had some very dear and friends of many years, out to the farm for lunch, we had a ball and ate too much !!! I gave them this Lamb dish it really is delicious and easy. That suits me.

LAMB AND DATE TAGINE
Nigella Lawson

2 onions, peeled and chopped
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground allspice
1kg/2lb 3oz boneless leg of lamb, chopped into cubes
250g/9oz soft dried dates, stones removed, or Medjool dates, stones removed
250ml/9fl oz pomegranate juice
250ml/9fl oz water
2 tsp Maldon sea salt, or 1 tsp table salt

Method
1. Warm the goose fat (or oil) in a wide heavy-based pan with a lid. Add the onions and cook gently over a low heat for ten minutes, or until softened.
2. Add the ground cinnamon, turmeric, ginger, cumin and allspice and mix well.
3. Turn up the heat and add the lamb, stirring often, until browned all over.
