NELSON MANDELA BAY, STATIUM

The white sail-like roof, the sort a yacht would have, is the most distinctive element of the stadium that will keep at by the notorious elements of the "Windy City"
With the North End Lake as its soothing backdrop, Nelson Mandela Bay was the first of the new venues to be completed, construction taking only 26 months.
It has already hosted a British & Irish Lions tour match and in 2010 it will be the setting for five group matches, one last - 16 game and a quarterfinal.

Thank you so much Pam for sharing this photograph. I have not actually seen the stadium from this viewpoint yet. Must say, its very impressive.

The roof on the Nelson Mandela Stadium is awesome and your idea of finding local attractions for the soccer fans/visitors is a great idea.

Thank you for your many kind comments on LilyBelle Scraps and to answer your question re Facebook - in one word - No (I am not on Facebook). I have been a member of several social networking sites, but had to withdraw my memberships simply because I don't have time to maintain them. My blog and the bit of designing that I do is about all I can manage. But, rest assured, I take great pleasure in reading the comments from you on my blog.
